First, paint a goldfish on a layer of hardened resin inside a container of some sort. Then pour another layer on top of that. The resin makes the dry paint look lusciously wet. Now paint another layer of the goldfish on top that, repeating the process and keeping in mind the perspective change with each successive layer. Japan’s Riusuke Fukahori does this times a billion and the result is stunning. Another artist in Singapore Keng Lye has taken this to a truly 3D level by bringing the objects out of the resin “water.” Amazing dedication and control here.
